Here is how Rosie exemplifies the Jesuit ideals according to her nomination:
As the President of the Turkish Intercultural Club, Rosaleyn Maldonado has dedicated her life to the service of others and to the mission of establishing peace and understanding in the world. She embodies the definition of what it means to be a leader. She is the president of the Turkish Intercultural Club. Rosaleyn also worked on Iftar Night, an event that T.I.C sponsored in October. This was a huge dinner that consisted of about 200 people and seven student organization leaders as speakers. Furthermore, she also helped plan and organize many other events such as Interfaith Dialogue Meetings (more than 10 meetings on different faiths), Turkish language classes, Turkish Festival, Hookah Intercultural Nights, Conferences, Movie Nights, and so forth in lights of trying to instill diversity and love of tolerance here on campus. She also encouraged the members for the TIC to be a part of Women Heritage Month and many more. One of the best promotions that is at Loyola University is Free Trip to Turkish Republic. She encouraged three different companies such as Turkish Airlines, Niagara Foundation and Ugur Sogutma to sponsor the club to offer a free trip to Turkish Republic to Loyola community. Rosaleyn is most deserving of this award.
