Ruth Rosales
Ruth Rosales, Junior
Here is how Ruth exemplifies the Jesuit ideals according to her nomination:
Ruth has served the Loyola community in various roles over the past academic year. She is the president of her sorority, a tutor in the Academic Advising & Services office, Orientation Leader, and volunteer in the Rogers Park community. I had the privilege of working with Ruth last summer as an Orientation Leader (OL). Ruth was extremely committed to her work as an OL and would always be willing to take on extra work outside of her job responsibilities. More importantly, Ruth was a wonderful ambassador to new students and their families during orientation. She always made her group members feel comfortable and welcome. As a bilingual student, Ruth sought out parents who required additional attention during parent sessions. She spoke with them one on one and shared her experience as a Loyola student to make them feel at home. Ruth's work ethic and values speak to the spirit of the Damen Award. She has been an excellent example for our orientation leader team and I look forward to working with her again this summer! Ruth is most deserving of this award.
