Phi Alpha Theta (Chi-Mu Chapter)


Phi Alpha Theta is the History Honor Society, Inc. open to both undergraduate and graduate students. Requirements for admission to the Society for Undergraduates are as follows:

  • completed at least twelve (12) hours in history averaging above the second highest grade on the working scale (3.1)
  • having a general average of at least the second highest grade in the working scale overall (3.0)
  • must rank in the highest 35% of the class, when rank is available

Invitations to become a member of the society are sent out every summer to those students who, according to department records, meet those criteria. Initiation is held in the fall, usually the first week in October when the elections of officers takes place.
