Jurors

Michelle Fire, Artist
Michelle Fire is the owner of the bar Big Chick's, and the restaurant, Tweet, on Sheridan Rd in Chicago. The walls of both are covered floor to ceiling with her enormous and eclectic art collection of local and national artists. An artist in her own right, Michelle was a member of Artemisia Gallery in the 70s, and curated several shows that really brought in the crowds. Looking at Women, followed by Looking at Men, were salon-style exhibits featuring a huge variety of artists and a wide-ranging examination of their subject matter.  She is hilarious, vibrant, full of energy and wild.

Brenda Bramel, Artist
Brenda Brammel is a brilliant and talented recent graduate of LUC who majored in photo but worked in every medium. Known for her red hair, lively personality, and the bunch of rubber multicolored bracelets she wears daily, Brenda is always coming up with something quirky or unusual to surprise people with. After graduating she was invited to serve on a gallery committee to develop new visions for the Crown Gallery; among other things, the titles for this year's shows were written by her. One of Brenda's most famous pieces of art is her rendition of the Mona Lisa in fruit roll-ups.

Sergio Gomez, Artist and Director of Collective 33 Gallery
Sergio Gomez is a recognized artist and curator. He studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and received his MFA from Northern Illinois University. His work has been exhibited in numerous national art competitions. Gomez co-founded Collective 33 Gallery, a progressive gallery in Chicago dedicated to the promotion of young, talented artists. In addition, Gomez is an accomplished graphic designer, web designer and illustrator.
