Well-Known Organists to Perform at Loyola’s Summer Concert Series

Loyola's Summer Celebrity Organ Concert Series begins June 15 with organist and church musician David Enlow.

Loyola’s Madonna della Strada Chapel will soon be filled with the powerful sounds of organ music as part of its annual Summer Celebrity Organ Concert Series beginning June 15.

The concert series is hosted by the University’s Campus Ministry and Department of Fine and Performing Arts and will feature some of the nation’s leading organists and the music of the University’s Katheryn Stamm Memorial Organ. The summer series opens with organist and church musician David Enlow.

Enlow is a member of The Julliard School’s organ faculty, sub-dean of the New York City Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and a member of the Guild’s National Committee on Profession Certification. He is also choir master at New York’s Church of the Resurrection.

July’s concert will feature Dr. Marilyn Keiser, chancellor’s professor of music emeritus at Jacobs School of Music of Indiana University, in Bloomington, Ind.

Dr. Lynn Trapp—concert organist and director of worship and music for St. Olaf Catholic Church—will close the summer series on August 17. Trapp is one of five members of the Board of Directors for the National Association of Pastoral Musicians (NPM) and is chapter director of the Twin Cities Chapter of NPM.

All concerts are free, open to the public and take place at Loyola’s Madonna della Strada Chapel, located on the University’s Lake Shore Campus in Rogers Park at 1032 West Sheridan Road.
