Printing from a multimedia lab computer
It is recommended all users review the Print Preview for documents and web print outs to ensure the proper content is being printed and there are no blank pages at the end. When you print, a Print Job Details dialog box will prompt asking for a Name and Password. This is specific to that individual print out and there are no restrictions on what may be entered here, as long as it is at least one character long, then click Print. A message in the system tray will appear indicating how many pages were sent to the printer and the cost of the print job.
Visit any printer in that multimedia lab location and swipe your Loyola ID at the touch screen release station. Jobs will populate, sorted by date and the username that was logged into the workstation. Select the print job with the name you previously chose and enter the password associated to it (if you printing using OnePrint it will also prompt for your username). The cost will be listed prior to clicking print at the release station, if this is correct and you have sufficient funds, click Done to release the print job from that printer. If this job was erroneous or you wish to cancel it, click Cancel and it will be removed from the print queue without any deduction from your Loyola ID. If the print job has not been released after two hours, it will automatically be deleted from the print queue.
Double-sided and single-sided printing
All standard black and white printers in the multimedia labs have the ability to print double-sided (duplex). As this method reduces paper waste and supplies, the cost to print is reduced from that of printing two singled-sided sheets. Duplex printing is the default print option but may be changed in the Print Properties prior to finalizing your print job. To print duplex from a PC, select File > Print, select Print Properties and select the Flip Over or Flip Up option. From a Mac in the Print menu, change Copies & Pages to Layout, and select Long or Short Edge. At the printer, do not touch the sheets until the complete job has finished printing to avoid any jams. If you prefer to print single-sided (simplex), you may follow these steps to change the layout to single sided as detailed in the print properties sections.
Printing from your laptop (OnePrint)
Information Technology Services has delivered a new solution for students called OnePrint. Based on the greatly successful PrintWise system, OnePrint will expand access to authorized lab printers throughout campus. Print your documents from any laptop or personal workstation, from either your dorm room or wireless connection (such as a classroom or public area) and retrieve your jobs from any of the ITS approved OnePrint stations. Here’s how it works: You choose the “OnePrint” from any application you’re working in and provide some quick information on your print job. OnePrint will hold your job for you until you are ready to print it out. Go to any OnePrint authorized station, swipe your Campus Card, choose your job and simply print out your documents.
Please note that printer changes may occur from semester to semester, if you have issues with OnePrint, we recommend uninstalling the client and downloading the latest version to better ensure no printing problems each semester.

Printing cost and funds
There is a per-page fee for print jobs in multimedia lab locations. The following rates apply for the various types of print jobs that are available:
|Print Format||Cost per sheet|
|Black & White double-sided (Duplex) (Default)||$0.10|
|Black & White single-sided (Simplex)||$0.07|
|Color single-sided (Simplex)||$0.50|
|Poster-sized prints||See Poster Printing|
Each semester, students registered in courses will receive $3.50 (equivalent to 50 single-sided Black & White pages) of Uniprint Dollars on their Loyola University campus card ID. These funds will be added after the first week of the semester after course registration closes. Unused allocations do not carry over from each year and are non-transferable. Once Uniprint Dollars are depleted, printing costs will be deducted from cardholder's Rambler Bucks account on your Loyola ID.
Alumni may print from lab printers using a Courtesy Card. These are available to purchase for $1 and funds may continue to be added in cash from the multiple Value Port terminals locations around each campus.
Faculty and Staff
It is recommended that faculty and staff utilize departmental printers for laser jet printing needs without the need for per-page fees. Faculty may request Printwise fund allocations for research by contacting department budget administrator and the Campus Card office for further information. In addition, you may add Rambler Bucks funds to your personal Loyola ID to pay for print jobs when printing in multimedia labs.
Additional printing funds can be added to your Loyola ID's account for Rambler Bucks through the following methods:
- Online Credit/Debit deposits: Add Funds through the Online Card Office
- Cash deposit terminals: View all ValuePort terminal locations
We cannot provide refunds for reprints done due to typos, printing incorrect documents. We recommend always clicking Print Preview to see a preview of how the document will appear printed and paginated. This can also help to better avoid printing blank sheets as final pages in word processing documents. You may modify margins and page ranges as necessary in the Print Properties and Print Selection sections where necessary.
If print jobs are significantly streaked, faded, smudged, spotty or creased due to printer, toner or paper errors, we are able to issue refunds. A PrintWise Refund Request Form is available at any of our staffed multimedia lab locations. Complete the form with as much detail as possible and staple the bad print job to the form for submission to a Digital Media Services advisor. Refund requests will be reviewed and processed within 7-10 days. If your refund is approved, Campus Card will credit your PrintWise or Rambler Bucks account shortly there after. If your refund is denied, a Digital Media Services representative will contact you with further details.
If there is a paper jam while your job is printing, do not turn off the printer. The printer will re-print your job once the jam has been cleared. PrintWise will not charge for lost pages due to a paper jam and will only deduct funds once the job has successfully printed. If you experience a paper jam or other printer problems, contact a Digital Media Services advisor for immediate assistance at either that location. You may also contact the ITS Helpdesk to report the issue.
