In continuing support of Fair Trade, Loyola Dining Services supports and distributes Divine Chocolate at our Lakeshore and Water Tower Campus convenience stores. Divine Chocolate is the first farmer-owned Fair Trade chocolate company. Divine was established to combine some 20,000 Ghanaian cocoa growers in Ghana into a cooperative known as the Kuapa Kokoo cooperative. This cooperative was established to improve the lives of the local cocoa farmers by taking part in the ownership of Divine Chocolates, receiving a fair price for their cocoa beans, and to grant them a portion of the company’s profits; which is used to put back into their community. Learn more about Divine Chocolate at www.divinechocolateusa.com.
