Unity in Diversity Partnership Grants

Guidelines and Application

  • Please read ALL Partnership Grant guidelines BEFORE filling out an application.
  • Download and complete the application form (program dates and times must be set).
  • Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on the specified deadline date. Late applications will not be accepted.
  • Program cannot be exclusive to a class or group. Caps on attendees or participants may exist based on capacity only.
  • No funds will be allocated for participation in conferences.
  • No funds will be allocated for prizes or awards based on competition or for gifts, unless in appreciation for a speaker.
  • All programs and initiatives must involve collaboration between two or more University recognized student organizations or departments.
  • No more than $1500 will be allocated for an honorarium fee, inclusive of travel expenses. Exceptions may vary based on available funds.
  • Funds allocated for food and beverages will not exceed $1000. Exceptions may vary based on available funds.
  • Funds allocated for publicity will not exceed $100.
  • Each budget item should be supported with supplemental information and documentation (i.e. estimated cost of airline ticket, estimate of food cost according to expected attendance).
  • Funds will not be allocated for programs that conflict with the time of another event related to student diversity.  It is the responsibility of ALL applicants to communicate with other groups (including the Department of Student Diversity) to ensure that dates do not overlap.
  • Faculty and staff members may submit more than one proposal but will not be funded for more than one program per semester.
  • Program submissions that have detailed, itemized budgets will be given preference over ones that are vague and general.
  • Faculty and staff applying for Unity in Diversity Funds are encouraged to seek additional funding from other sources. Programs that can be and are traditionally funded by individual departments, programs or colleges will not be considered.
  • Program submissions that might be appropriate for other student diversity related programming (i.e. Black History Month, Women's History Month, etc.) may be deferred to the relevant planning committee.
