Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology
The Ph.D. program in Counseling Psychology is designed for students who seek to engage in the professional practice of psychology. The program is accredited by the American Psychological Association and meets all APA standards. The professional practice may include conducting research, teaching and/or counseling in a variety of settings. The program is based on the scientist-practitioner model of graduate education and training. The interdependence of the science and profession of psychology is emphasized in all aspects of the program. The goal of training is the thoughtful application of scientific knowledge and personal competencies to a wide range of normal human problems and concerns spanning the life cycle. This degree is conferred by The Graduate School.
