Paid Internship and Assistantships

Paid internships are typically available in the student affairs and enrollment management areas at Loyola. Some of the participating departments include: Undergraduate Admission, Career & Internship Center, Student Financial Assistance, Learning Assistance, Residence Life, Student Activities and Orientation, Student Diversity, Student Leadership, Women's Programs, Dean of Students Office, Campus Recreation, Student Union, and Public Safety. Graduate interns typically receive a monthly stipend (September through May) ranging from $6,000-$7,200 per academic year and 18-21 hours of graduate tuition remission (valued at $10,980 in 2004-2005) for the academic year. Residence Life interns will also receive room (an apartment) and board.

Application Process
Admission to the higher education program and applications for paid graduate internships are two separate processes.

Applicants interested in graduate internships should request information on the application and interview process from each respective department. Typically, Student Life will manage the interview process for positions in Student Life and Enrollment Management departments and Residence Life will recruit through the Oshkosh Placement Exchange in Wisconsin. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit complete admission applications for the higher education program by February 1 so the admission application may be reviewed prior to interviewing for paid graduate internships.
