M.Ed./Ed.S. in School Psychology

The M.Ed./Ed.S. dual-degree program in School Psychology prepares students to become an integral part of educating children and supporting parents and staff in schools as school psychologists. The program of study is a nationally approved program aligned with the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) domains and Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) School Psychology Standards. Students graduating from the program will have a working knowledge of NASP training standards

Students with a bachelor's degree are admitted to the combined M.Ed./Ed.S. program. An M.Ed. degree in Educational Psychology is earned after the first year of study, leading to entrance to the Ed.S. portion of the program.

Students who have a master's degree in a related field (i.e. psychology or counseling psychology) can apply directly to the Ed.S. or Ph.D. program. If the student has a master's degree, then a maximum of up to 36 graduate semester hours of credit from another college or university may be allowed to meet specific certification and program requirements.
