The School of Education's Future Teachers/Illinois Education Association Student Organization was awarded the 2011-2012 Outstanding Local Excellence Award by the National Education Association (NEA). The NEA Student Program Local Excellence Award recognizes Local Student Chapters that have achieved excellence throughout the year by providing members with leadership and development opportunities in the areas of teacher quality, community outreach and political action.
