Immersion: Pedagogy

Pedagogical immersion allows for participation as teachers in a Mexican, Spanish-speaking school. In this unique school-based immersion experience, you will observe and support an upper elementary classroom teacher at Colegio Simon Bolivar, near the Coayacan neighborhood – the fine arts center of Mexico City. From 9am – 2pm for 8 days of the two-week program, you will work side-by-side a teacher in a 4^th, 5^th, or 6^th grade classroom with Mexican students. Prior to the trip, you will virtually meet and collaborate with your partner teacher in order to form a true partnership and learn how you can best support the classroom, teacher and students with your expertise and resources.
