Ph.D. Exam
Approved reading lists: For November exams, by the final day of classes in the preceding Spring Semester.
For February exams, by the end of the second week of classes in the preceding Fall Semester.
For April exams, by the end of the second week of the preceding November.
Approved field statements: At least four weeks prior to the beginning of the written exam. (This deadline is strictly observed; please begin work on your statements early to leave time for revision!)
English 502
English 502 must be completed within two years after the student registers for the course. (This rule applies only to the "new" 502; i.e., to 502s taken in Summer 2001 and after.)
Dissertation Defense
Fully formatted copies of the completed dissertation—the so-called "readers' copies"—must be distributed to the committee by:
- October 10 for January degrees
- February 10 for May degrees
