Louis Cain received his Ph.D. from Northwestern University in Economics. His research interests include the economics of zoological parks and aquariums, with Dennis Meritt of DePaul University; the Endangered Species Act, the Tennessee Valley Authority, and the snail darter, with Brooks Kaiser of Northwestern University. He is also interested in urbanization and sanitation in North America; the linkage between urban mortality and spending on sanitation facilities, 18991929, with Elyce Rotella of Indiana University. Dr. Cain teaches environmental economics (ECON 328) and GB 526: Environmental and Natural Resources Economics.
