The TELA is used in place of the TOEFL or IELTS to determine an applicant’s English proficiency for admission to degree programs at Loyola University Chicago.

  1. This registration form must be submitted at least one week prior to the test date. Incomplete or late submissions will not be considered.
  2. The $35 test fee, payable by check or money order to Loyola University Chicago, must be submitted prior to or on the day of the test.
  3. Test takers must bring a government issued Photo ID on the day of the test.
  4. A TELA score report will be sent to the admission office indicated on this form. Test results are only given to the respective admission office, not to the individual applicant. The ESL Program does not make admission decisions.
  5. The TELA can only be taken once every six months.
  6. No preparation materials or other information about the TELA are available.
