Dear Family Member,

What are your deepest hopes for your son or daughter, brother or daughter, niece or nephew?

  • To be happy?
  • To lead a life that makes a difference in the lives of others?
  • To act courageously on becoming the greatest version of themselves?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, we have good news for you.  Evoke shares your dream!  We are eager to partner with you as college begins. We hope this is an extraordinary time to unlock the extraordinary potential we know that he or she has.

What can we do for your young adult?

At Evoke (Encouraging Vocation through Knowledge and Experience), we know that college is a confusing time for many young adults.  Not only are students trying to make new friends and form mature relationships, but they are also trying to figure out who they are and what they want to do with their lives.  Because of this, Evoke offers safe and supportive spaces where students can explore these and other “bigger questions” with their peers as well as with faculty and staff mentors.  Our efforts have borne much fruit: since its creation in 2001, Evoke has helped thousands of Loyola students learn more about who they are, what they’re good at, and what God is calling them to become.

Take Belinda Hernandez, for example.  She came to Loyola with the dream of becoming a doctor.  By her sophomore year, she was seriously questioning her choice.  Fortunately, Belinda had been accepted into the OnCall program at the conclusion of her freshman year, where she found a group of peers and faculty/staff mentors who supported her as she asked herself, “Why am I so unhappy with my major?  What dream do I really have for myself?”  By taking some time to stop, question, and listen for her own answers to these questions, Belinda realized that medicine was not her dream.  A 2004 graduate of Loyola, Belinda now holds a master’s degree in Social Work and is living an extraordinary life through her work with the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago.

Why not encourage your son and daughter to explore what Evoke has to offer?  Whether through our OnCall, Evoke Scholars, and REAL mentoring programs, Evoke Week celebrations, Distinguished Speaker Series, workshops, retreats, alternative break immersions, or vocation-enriched undergraduate courses, I know that Evoke will make a positive difference in your college student’s life.

At Evoke, our dream is to encourage your son or daughter to live theirs.  If you would like to learn more about our programs, we invite you to stop by our office, look more at our website, or to give us a call.
