Mission and Philosophy of EVOKE
Mission
Developing an awareness of who we are and who we are being called to become has long been foundational to the Ignatian charism for leading an extraordinary life. EVOKE's mission is to raise Loyolans' awareness of their vocation through intentional reflection and experiences with students and the faculty and staff who teach, advise, and mentor them. In the words of St. Ignatius of Loyola, we challenge students to "conceive great resolves and elicit equally great desires."
Philosophy
We believe callings are bigger than any one major, job, career or life decision. Callings are about you, who you choose to be in this world, and about the world's deep hungers. Callings continue throughout your lifetime. We are convinced that each person, regardless of spiritual tradition, has a calling - a way in which his or her unique contribution can make the world a better place.
At Loyola, we prepare people to lead extraordinary lives. At EVOKE, we help students discover how to live their lives authentically by encouraging them to live their callings. Developing an awareness of calling is an important starting point for leading an extraordinary life. EVOKE encourages, supports and challenges everyone at Loyola to identify and respond to their callings. We utilize personal narratives, skills tests, discussion groups, and more to help students delve deeper. Since 2000, EVOKE has provided students with a distinctive opportunity to discover their calling and connect it to their future both in and beyond the classroom. We strive to provide students with the tools to continue exploring and living their callings after they leave Loyola; the journey never ends.
At EVOKE, our calling is to help you live yours. Find out more about our programs by exploring our website, giving us a call, or stopping by our office.
