Welcome

Would you like to become the GREATEST version of the GRANDEST vision you ever held for YOURSELF?

Sound idealistic?

Not to us at Evoke (Encouraging Vocation through Knowledge and Experience). Why? Because we know the power that comes from listening and paying attention to the voice inside all of us that encourages us to be true to ourselves. We have witnessed this power in the lives of hundreds of Loyolans since Evoke began with a generous grant from the Lilly Endowment, Inc. in 2000.

Take Belinda Hernandez, for example. She came to Loyola with the dream of becoming a doctor. By her sophomore year, she was seriously questioning her choice. Fortunately, Belinda had been accepted into the On Call program at the conclusion of her freshman year, where she found a group of peers and faculty/staff mentors who supported her as she asked herself, "Why am I am so unhappy with my major? What would make me happy? What dream do I have for myself?" By taking some time to stop, question, and listen for her own answers to these questions, Belinda realized that medicine was not her dream, but working with others in enhancing the quality of life among members of her Latino/a community was. Today, Belinda is a graduate student in Social Work who is leading an extraordinary life.

At Evoke, stories like Belinda's are common. Why? Because our purpose is to encourage your calling. Through workshops, Evoke designated courses, speakers, alternative break immersions, and other activities, Evoke challenges students to listen and find their own answers.

Come visit us and discover for yourself the power that comes from asking the big questions. You might be surprised at how you, too, can tap into that still, small voice that invites you to become, as Neale Donald Walsch says, the greatest version of the grandest vision you ever held for yourself.

Sincerely,
