Board governance is a critical factor in organizational effectiveness and a crucial part of the functioning life of non-profit and for-profit organizations. In light of recently exposed unethical business practices as well as the complicated business, legal and economic climate, highly efficient and accountable boards are more important than ever.
This two-day program will address how to:
- Create a high performing board and organizational culture
- Evaluate the board's duties in mergers and acquisitions
- Address key legal issues faced by today's boards (Sarbanes-Oxley, how to maintain a union-free environment, and employment discrimination)
- Read and evaluate pertinent financial statements
- Differentiate between the role of boards and the role of management
