Joseph Cherian, PhD
Joseph Cherian teaches strategy, marketing, customer service and change management for Loyola University Chicago Executive Education. He is also an Associate Professor of Marketing at the University of Illinois (UIC) College of Business Administration. He earned his Doctorate in Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin; his dissertation was on the influence of corporate culture on the adoption of innovations by hospitals. His research focuses on consumer behavior, an area in which he is nationally known and widely respected. He is also known nationally for his study of how organizational culture impacts the adoption of innovations.
In 1996 he received an award for the best “Consumer Behavior Paper” from the Southern Marketing Association Conference. Professor Cherian has published numerous articles in such journals as: Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Contemporary Accounting Research, Psychology and Marketing, Marketing Letters, Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Retailing, Research in Marketing, Journal of Socio-Economics, and Journal of Accounting and Public Policy. Dr. Cherian has conducted training sessions and consulted with several large corporations as well as non-profits and health care organizations.
