Who Should Attend
This course is recommended for anyone who wants to be more successful in their communication approach due to changes in technology. Participants will develop strategies to efficiently utilize various electronic tools while also being prepared to transition to effective face-to-face presentations. Individuals will focus on presentation skills to speak in front of groups and influence others with ideas and messages. Learn how to present ideas with confidence and conviction. Individuals who want to improve their ability to deliver presentations effectively to both large and small groups and select the most effective communication vehicle for the situation; become more effective in organizing key messages, preparing supporting materials, and delivering presentations that achieve results in both formal and informal settings.
Topics Covered in this Course
- Discuss various types of communication channels and related changes in the electronic age
- Explore various types of communication channels used in business (i.e. email, wireless handheld, video conferences, voice mail, conference calls and face-to-face presentations) and how to be more effective in getting your message across
- Define types of presentations and their key elements – informative, persuasive, decision-making
- Develop and organize presentation materials
- Use visual aids and support materials to enhance the presentation, not distract from the presenter
- Practice verbal and non-verbal skills to reduce nervousness and engage an audience
- Define components of effective preparation and rehearsing
- Handle audience questions professionally
Instructional Approach
In this interactive, hands-on course, you will prepare and deliver multiple presentations. Your presentations will be videotaped so that you can receive immediate feedback from the professional instructors and track your own progress.
About the Instructors
Alice Rowland has been a professional trainer, presenter, and facilitator for 15 years. As President of Provisio, Inc.
