Publishing and Privacy

Publishing your learning portfolio on Taskstream enables anyone to access your work from the Internet using the web address that you create. You may choose to limit access by creating a password. This will allow only those whom you give the password access to view your portfolio. Keep in mind you can unpublish your work at any time.

There are two ways to publish and share your learning portfolio on the Taskstream platform:

  • If you created a web folio from the "Folios & Web Pages Tab", please follow Option #1.
  • If you populated a DRF for a class or a program, please follow Option #2.

Option #1: Publish Your Learning Portfolio to the Web (Folio Web feature)

  • Log into your Taskstream Account and select the Folio-Web Page you wish to publish.
  • Click the "Options" tab.

  • Click the "Publish" button.
  • Type the final segment of the web address to your ePortfolio in the textbox next to 'Create a Customized Web Address".
  • Decide if you want viewers to use a password when accessing your learning portfolio and make the appropriate selection. If you require a password, viewers will need the web link to your learning portfolio and the password you designate to access your portfolio.

Option #2: Publish Your DRF to the Web

  • Log into your Taskstream Account and select the Folio-Web Page you wish to publish.
  • Click the "Options" tab.

  • Decide if you want viewers to use a password when accessing your ePortfolio and make the appropriate selection. If you require a password, viewers will need the web link to your ePortfolio and the password you designate to access your ePortfolio.
  • Note: After you copy any work over, any information submitted to your DRF will NOT automatically copy over.

Create a Printable PDF

A printable PDF version of your folio or web page can be created by clicking the Create a Printable PDF button. You can select to include a Title Page and Table of Contents within your PDF.

E-mail this URL

Folios and web pages can be sent to other TaskStream subscribers via the Message Center or to an external email address. The recipient will receive a message with a link to the folio or web page. When sending a folio or web page to another TaskStream subscriber, you also have the option to allow the recipient to create a copy of it. To email a folio or web page, click the Email this URL button located on the Publish/Share tab.

Password Protection

If you have concerns about the privacy of an ePortfolio, you can take steps to protect your content and limit the access to your ePortfolio. When publishing your TaskStream ePortfolio, you can require a password so that viewers will need to have the web link and the password you designate to access your ePortfolio.

Privacy and Multimedia

If you choose to include multimedia artifacts in your ePortfolio, you may need to create accounts with and upload work to applications such as Scribd, SlideShare, Prezi, and other 3rd party multimedia sites. If you have privacy concerns, make sure to familiarize yourself with each site's privacy options and policies before creating an account and uploading work. On many sites, you have the option to make your work public or private, but limiting access make have an impact on the visibility of your multimedia artifacts in your ePortfolio.
