Idolatry
Exodus
20:3-5
"You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make
for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth
beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them;
for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin
of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me...."
Deuteronomy
5:7-9

Romans
1:21-23
For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor
gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts
were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged
the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds
and animals and reptiles.
