    Labs will meet weekly, but four field trips will be conducted on weekends.  Attendance on three of these trips is required.  Students will be excused from field trips only in the most exceptional cases (as determined by the instructor) and the instructor must be notified prior to the trip.  Unexcused absence from a field trip will result in a grade of 'F' on the corresponding lab report.  Make-up exams will not be given except in the most exceptional cases (as determined by the instructor).  Written evidence to support the reason for absence from the examination will be required.

    Cheating or any other form of academic dishonesty will not be tolerated.  Persons involved in academic dishonesty will receive the grade of zero for the quiz or assignment and may be subject to expulsion from the university.  The Chairperson of the Department of Biology and the Dean of Mathematics and Natural Sciences will be notified in writing of all actions taken.

Grading will be based on lab write-ups and the laboratory practical.  The lab practical will be worth two lab write-ups.  Lab write-ups are due at the beginning of each lab period.  Write-ups will be reduced by 10 pts for every day or fraction thereof that they are late.
