This animation depicts the synthesis of mRNAs by the Nurse Cells in a Drosophila egg chamber and passage of those mRNAs into the oocyte. The animation shows the anterior localization of Bicoid mRNA and the posterior localization of Oskar mRNA within the oocyte and embryo.
