Advanced Pediatric Assessment
Lippincott, Willimas & Wilkins: March 2010
Advanced Pediatric Assessment provides in-depth treatment of the physical and psychosocial assessment of children, birth through adolescence. Emphasis is placed on the developmental and cultural aspects of child assessment. The book has a dual focus: to serve as a primary pediatric health assessment course textbook for the advanced practice nursing student, and as a reference for practicing nurse practitioners and physicians' assistants.
This book approaches health assessment of the pediatric client by using physical and psychosocial development, as well as culture as guiding threads. Each section is preceded by a discussion of relevant developmental variations to taking a pediatric health history and performing the pediatric physical examination.
