Open to any Loyola faculty member, instructor or adjunct, the nine-unit certificate covers the pedagogy and best practices of teaching and learning online. The first nine weeks of instruction are done entirely online.

We use Blackboard and other online tools that allow faculty to receive the experience of being a student while learning how to teach online. There are assignments every week and about 1-2 hours of reading expected. Every other week there is an online, synchronous session where we meet online and discuss the topic of the week. Unit 10 is a series of workshops that help faculty select appropriate tools for their online teaching experience. Faculty may select only those workshops that are applicable to their pedagogical and technical needs.
