Increasing the credit hour limit for the full-time tuition rate from 19 hours to 21 hours. This will allow students to take additional credit hours in a semester without any additional charges and enable a student to complete their degree more quickly and at a reduced cost.
Accommodating students due to special circumstances who need to drop from a full-time status to a part-time status. Students will need to apply to have a prorated amount of their scholarship and institutional grants applied to the part-time tuition rate. In addition, students who are approved to drop to part-time status will be allowed to continue to live in university residence halls.
Students who find that they need to take a 5th year to complete their degree due to special circumstances may apply to have their scholarship and institutional grants apply to their 5th year of study. This provides greater flexibility to students whose four-year plan was altered due to extenuating circumstances.
A pilot summer grant program will be implemented for summer 2009. Students who choose to take summer classes may apply for institutional assistance. This will assist students in completing their degree in 4 years.
