Exit Counseling

All borrowers/recipients of the above programs are required to complete an exit loan counseling session online for each program they have borrowed/received funds from, prior to graduating or leaving Loyola. The counseling session provides you with information on repayment deferment and cancellation provisions.

Federal Stafford Loan borrowers

  1. Go to StudentLoans.gov.
  2. Complete the counseling session and print the confirmation page for your records.

Federal Perkins and Nursing Student Loan borrowers

  1. Go to Educational Computer Systems, Inc. (ECSI).
  2. Click on "Are you a Borrower."
  3. Click on "Login to My Account."
  4. Log in using the following information:
    School Code: N9
    SSN#: Your nine-digit Social Security Number
    PIN#: Provided by ECSI on the Exit Loan Counseling letter from the Bursar's Office. Can also be obtained by calling 888.549.3274.
  5. Complete the counseling session and print the confirmation page for your records.

Federal TEACH Grant recipients

  1. Go to Mapping Your Future TEACH Exit Counseling.
  2. Complete the counseling session and print the confirmation page for your records.

If your family has experienced a change of circumstance affect your financial situation (loss of employment, excessive medical bills, death of a parent, etc.), you may complete a 2015-2016 Special Circumstance Appeal to request a reevaluation of your financial aid eligibility.

The form allows you to describe the financial changes in detail and the impact it has on your ability to meet your educational expenses. Appropriate documentation (i.e., federal tax returns, medical bills, unemployment benefits statements) is required.

The review process for appeals can be up to 7–10 business days from the time an appeal with all supporting documents is received. Any award adjustment will be contingent upon your eligibility and the availability of funds.
