401k Business Financing Scholarship: $1,000

MySolo401k.net is a leading facilitator of 401k small business financing. Our 401k SelfStarter Plan, also known as a rollover as business startup (ROBS), allows entrepreneurs to fund a business or franchise with their retirement funds without taking a taxable distribution or loan. By minimizing debt, the business is more likely to succeed.  Ultimately, we empower individuals to turn their idea or concept from a dream into a reality.

Of course, we know the benefits of funding a business or franchise with 401k, IRA or other retirement funds, but we want to hear it from your perspective: What are the benefits of using retirement funds to purchase or fund a business or franchise? Why should an individual use retirement funds over traditional forms of small business financing (equity and debt financing)? What is the long term value of the ROBS transaction to a business owner?

Who:

Any student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at any accredited United States university, college or trade school.

What:

A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded; this money can be used toward tuition or books.

How:

Applicants must submit an essay of 1,000 words minimum on the topic "What are the benefits of using funds in your 401k, IRA or other retirement account to finance your business or franchise?”

Apply at http://www.mysolo401k.net/benefits-using-401k-to-fund-business-franchise-scholarship.html.

A Better America Scholarship Program

We want to reach out to the student generation and reward initiative, innovation and lofty idealism.
Today’s college students have the ability to seamlessly navigate the 21st century better than any previous generation. The world is shrinking, with globalization, speed of light communication and unprecedented access to knowledge via the Internet tearing down barriers to individual and community advancement. With a pocket-sized smartphone that would have been considered a supercomputer 40 years ago, a young person can turn the world on its head and take selfies all at the same time.

The scholarship is not limited to a particular university or course, as every student in the United States has the power to change the country. Whether a student is taking night classes at an Idaho community college or attends Harvard with an impeccable academic background, they can change the status quo.

ACLS Medical Training Scholarship Program

You are already dedicating your life to helping those in need. Why not do something to help yourself?  We invite you to enter the ACLS Medical Training Scholarship Program. We will select one top award winner who will receive a $1,000 unrestricted scholarship (unrestricted means you can buy pizza with the award instead of books if you want—the check is in your name).  The winning essay will be posted on ACLSMedicalTraining.com along with the second and third best essays. These two runners-up will receive one complimentary pass to the ALCS Medical Training Certification program of their choice (BLS, ACLS, or PALS) valued at $275.

ACLS Medical Training is interested in hearing how you think about providing emergency medical care. You are entering a profession in which you may be called upon to provide basic life support, advanced cardiovascular life support, or pediatric advanced life support. Are you excited? Is this scary? How will you handle the situation when the time comes? If you have  already performed lifesaving techniques, what was it like? Did you use the skills you were taught? There are no correct answers—we are looking for honest, compelling essays.

What do I write about?

Write an essay, between 500 and 1000 words, on one the following topics:

  1. If you have assisted someone in a life support situation, describe your role in the process, the emotions or feelings that you experienced, and how the situation was resolved.

I Heart My School Scholarship

ABODO is an apartment search service that was started by a few guys from UW Madison. ABODO was built by students for students. Why? Well we loved our school, but hated every time we had to find a new place to live. The listing services didn’t have anything new and the classifieds suck. So we decided to pull together all the best listings around campus and put them all on a map with powerful filters and real-time availability.  It worked for us, so now we’re on a mission to spread the love to campuses across the country!

We started in a garage and now we’re a real company. It’s time for us to pay it forward. So we’re offering a $500 tuition scholarship twice a year! No, you cannot win twice… but your roommate could win the next time.
We love our school and we want to find out more about what you love about your school. Could be some great teacher that really delivers the goods, a great neighborhood near campus, or that weekly concert in the quad. You tell us! To win write about 5 great things most people don’t know about your school. Your piece should be no more than 1000 words, but you can include up to 5 related pictures (your own pictures, no Ansel Adams shots, please).

Submit your scholarship application at http://www.abodo.com/scholarship.

Innovation in Education Scholarship

At LA Tutors, we believe that it’s more than just the grades that make a great well-rounded student. Each one of you is creative in his or her own way: some of you blog; others curate documentary photography on Instagram that helps us understand the world better; and still others find imaginative ways to solve problems in their public and private lives. Creativity is the air each one of us breathes, but sometimes we get so concerned with grades that we forget that imagination is our natural problem solver.

One way to showcase your creativity is to innovate either by solving a problem, by designing something that helps others solve problems, or by enhancing our relationship with whatever matters to us. Innovation brings together in unique ways our technical skills and our hopes for a better world.

It also provides opportunities for gaining real-working experience in a chosen field, and gives students the chance to connect with adults outside their circle who might be able to help students get into their top choice college or get an internship. In the end, innovation makes people look at the bigger picture, which is the best preparation for college and for life.
We at LA Tutors are passionate about sparking the creative genius in students and would love to commend those outstanding students who have a made a difference in the lives of others in some innovative or technological fashion. In order to achieve this, we have established a scholarship for students who meet certain criteria.

Karin Riley Porter Attorney at Law believes strongly in advancing the cause of the criminal justice system and criminal defense services by ensuring that everyone within the Commonwealth of Virginia receives fair representation and that those who are dedicated to that calling can realize their full academic potential. 2015 Michigan Auto Law Car Accident Injury Survivor Scholarship

Our Michigan auto accident law firm is offering an annual scholarship for college students who were victims of car accidents earlier in their lives and who have overcome their injuries.

We understand how difficult it can be to recover after a serious injury. Our attorneys have been helping people injured in auto accidents for more than 50 years, and want to lend a hand to those who have survived serious crashes and who are demonstrating resolve and determination to rebuild their lives.

We also want to recognize individual acts of heroism and hard work. Our Car Accident Injury Survivor Scholarship serves as an important reminder that each and every person injured in an auto accident is a person, not a number or a claim. Today, most of the insurance industry uses injury claims software that dehumanizes people by putting a dollar value on a case. When personal injuries and pain and suffering are given average dollar settlement values, we lose sight of what it means when someone is hurt in a serious crash and how drastically a life can be changed.

Our hope is that by recognizing outstanding young people who have overcome serious injury, we can remind everyone that car accident injury survivors are people.

Our annual scholarship of $500 will be awarded to two applicants in 2015.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Applicants must:

Selection is based on the overall strength of the application and how that applicant has overcome the challenges he or she has faced from being injured in a car accident.

The Reeves Law Group Scholarship Contest

Our law firm specializes in representing victims of accidents and other tragic circumstances. As lawyers, we feel fortunate to be advocates in the justice system for those who have no voice of their own. Helping people in need by lending them our expertise and resources is one of our greatest rewards. However, being a lawyer is not a requirement for standing up and fighting for the rights of those who have been victimized. We are in fact looking for students who have made significant contributions by helping those who have met with misfortune in their lives.

For this, our first annual scholarship contest, we want to hear from students who have helped in significant ways individuals or groups who have been in dire need of rescue or other assistance. The gestures may involve tending to individuals at a hospice, finding shelter, food and other necessities for homeless or destitute individuals, or fundraising on their behalf. These are just examples. We welcome hearing about your experience, which may involve other circumstances and acts of compassion, commitment and courage.

Please tell us about your experience helping individuals in your community who could not help themselves, and how it has impacted your life and their lives. The student who submits the most inspiring story will be awarded $1,000 to be invested in his or her educational costs.

Rosenfeld Injury Lawyers’ Single Mother Scholarship

Rosenfeld Injury Lawyers believes in the empowerment of single mothers through education. Education has the power to open doors for single mothers and even their children. Having a degree or certification can enable a woman to expand her lifetime earning potential, increase her gross income, and provide her with better job opportunities.

In turn, this allows a single mother to financially support her children, purchase groceries, afford a mortgage and provide a stable household for the family. Even though it can be difficult to care for a child while pursuing an education, the rewards of an education far outweigh the challenges. To help facilitate your college path in technology, marketing, and/or entrepreneurship, Signal is pleased to offer two undergraduate students in these fields a scholarship prize. Structured Settlement Career Planning Scholarship

Are you attending college in the United States and looking for a scholarship? We're providing a $1,000 scholarship for the 2015-2016 school year.

I'm proud to share that Roosevelt "Teddy" Lovett was not only my grandfather, but also one of my earliest teachers. He taught me to do things the proper way. Lessons I remember include counting, ironing, and finishing what I started--at least I know how to count well.

One lesson I learned by simply observing Roosevelt is that we should help people. I watched him help almost everyone who asked. He didn't make anyone grovel or feel embarrassed. He didn't take long to make up his mind--he just helped. He went out of his way to help. That's what I'm doing by creating this scholarship fund in his name and that's what you will do by responding to my prompt and creating an excellent resource for others.

Write 650-900 words for the prompt, "What Can College Students Do to Improve Their Job Prospects?"

On an unrelated note, you're welcome to connect with me on LinkedIn and Google+. If you follow the rules when submitting an application, I will do my best to help provide career guidance...presuming you seek it.

By applying for this scholarship, you agree to provide co-authorship rights to your response to our prompt and you agree to allow us to post your biographical information. The winning response will be published on this site as a resource for other students to utilize. We may use your response to create a derivative work, such as an article or video. Your bio will be posted to provide transparency.

Student Debt Relief Scholarship

Student Debt Relief is committed to helping students receive a higher education, while keeping their student debt as low as possible. To show our commitment to those who have thought about this and have a plan to minimize their student debt, we have an annual Student Debt Relief Scholarship program.

Sutliff & Stout Scholarship Contest

Come up with an idea for technology which would effectively put an end to texting and driving. Then, create a prototype of that technology. This could be as simple as a cell phone lock-box, or as complex as a car which drains a cell phone’s battery. We would like to see how creative you can make your prototype. It does not necessarily need to work (clearly, that would be unfair of us to ask). We are interested in seeing how creative and inventive you can be.

Amount awarded: 1st: $1,000   2nd: $500   3rd: $250

Enrollment Levels: College students and high school seniors in the United States

Truck Accident Attorney Injury Scholarship

The attorneys of Truck Accident Attorneys Roundtable are pleased to offer our first annual scholarship for college students who are survivors of truck accidents and have overcome their injuries while pursuing an education.

Every year we dedicate a portion of our fees to truck safety and truck accident prevention. This year we have also created a truck accident injury scholarship for the survivors of truck accidents.

Our attorneys help people injured in truck accidents. We want to lend a hand to those who have survived and who are demonstrating resolve and determination to rebuild their lives. We also want to recognize individual acts of heroism and hard work, as this scholarship serves as an important reminder that each and every person injured in a truck accident is a person, not a number or a claim. Today, the trucking industry often puts profits ahead of safety. When personal injuries and pain and suffering are given average dollar settlement values, we lose sight of what it means when someone is hurt in a serious crash and how drastically a life can be changed.

Our annual scholarship of $500 will be awarded to one applicant in 2015.
