Take a FAFSA Completion Workshop
The Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) is sponsoring a workshop to help students and parents complete the 2007-2008 FAFSA. The workshop will be held on February 10 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the Sullivan Center. Families are encouraged to bring W-2 forms, 2006 tax documents, bank statements and other financial data to the workshop.
If you are unable to attend the workshop, stop by OSFA to get help with the FAFSA and other financial matters. OSFA hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Undergraduate students must submit the FAFSA by February 15 (if filing the paper FAFSA) or February 27 (if filing electronically) to meet Loyola's priority application date of March 1, which allows students to be considered for as many types of aid as possible. Students who miss the March 1 deadline may not be eligible for need-based Loyola assistance.
For information about filing the FAFSA online, visit: www.luc.edu/finaid/apply_assistance.shtml. If you have questions about the FAFSA or about the financial aid process, email OSFA at: lufinaid@luc.edu.

Prepare Calendar Software for New Daylight Savings Time Hours
Daylight Savings Time begins almost a month earlier than usual this year because of the Energy Policy Act of 2005. The switch to Daylight Savings time begins at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 11. Microsoft recently released a patch that updates the start and end dates for Daylight Saving Time. This patch will likely cause problems with all forms of calendar software, including Loyola's GroupWise and WebAccess, for appointments within the extended Daylight Saving Time period (March 11 through April 1 and October 28 through November 4).
If you use any type of calendar software, please review all appointments scheduled within the extended Daylight Savings Time period and confirm with the meeting organizer that the appointment is scheduled for the correct time. Appointments may be off by one hour, which will require a resend of the appointment in order to correct the problem. Also, when sending out new meeting invitations, include the correct start time of the meeting in the subject line. For example: "Study group meeting at 7:30 p.m."
Detailed information about the extended Daylight Savings Time and instructions on how to reschedule appointments is available at: www.luc.edu/its/dst.shtml. If you have any questions, please call the ITS Technology Support Center at: ext. 44444; or: 773.508.7190.
