Campus Road Closure

As of January 8, 2007, Campus Road and the north entrance gate are closed to through traffic.

Campus Road has been closed to prepare for upcoming construction of the Loyola Avenue recreational sports field on the north lawn, east of Mertz Hall and north of the Gentile Center. This is the first of a series of projects that will eventually eliminate all automobile traffic from the Lake Shore Campus (with the exception of emergency and service vehicles) except for the one-way loop road from West Sheridan Road, entering at Kenmore and exiting at Winthrop. All delivery vehicles will need to enter and exit campus from West Sheridan Road.

The Quinn Quadrangle parking lot, near the north entrance, remains open until construction on the Loyola recreational field begins in March 2007. More details will be provided this winter. For ongoing information about Lake Shore Campus construction, visit: www.luc.edu/construction.

New Fine Arts Building

Renovation of the building formerly owned by Root commercial photography, located at 1131 W. Sheridan Road, has been completed, and the new Fine Arts Building opens with the Spring Semester. Located just west of the El, the building features classrooms and studios for sculpture, ceramics, jewelry and dance, as well as presentation studios, display areas and faculty offices. For more information, contact the Department of Fine Arts & Music at: finearts-info@luc.edu.

Electronic-Billing Replaces Paper Bills

Starting this month with January 2007 billing, the university will use only electronic billing; paper bills will no longer be available—and will not be mailed monthly to students with account balances.

The new e-bill is a snapshot in time of how an individual student financial account appears on the day it is generated. Students with account balances are notified monthly to review their LOCUS accounts at www.luc.edu/locus where they also will find their e-bills.

For more information about e-billing, including how to set up proxy access to your e-bill and your financial accounts, visit: www.luc.edu/bursar/ebilling.shtml; call the Office of the Bursar: 773.508.7705; or e-mail: bursar@luc.edu.

LOCUS Enhances Enrollment Verification

Effective Tues., Jan. 16, a new LOCUS feature will allow students to immediately print an enrollment verification as well as speed up requesting and obtaining certified copies of enrollment verification.

Students may now print from their browsers an enrollment verification outlining their status at Loyola. Students also may request that a certified copy of enrollment verification be mailed from Loyola either to their address as recorded in LOCUS or to another address of their choosing. Several copies of the enrollment verification may be ordered at the same time and sent to multiple addresses. For questions or more information, please e-mail: locus@luc.edu.

This enhancement is not yet available for students who are currently enrolled in dissertation supervision or doctoral study. These graduate students are asked to complete the enrollment verification form available at: www.luc.edu/regrec/students.shtml.
