Meet representatives from many corporations and non-profit organizations to get information about full- and part-time jobs and internships. This event is free to Loyola students and alumni. Attend a Town Hall Meeting with President Garanzini

    Last Day to Drop Classes

The last day to withdraw from a class with a grade of "W" is March 26. Students who withdraw from a class after March 26 will receive a grade of "WF." All students should use LOCUS to withdraw from classes. Check LOCUS for holds on your account, which may prevent you from withdrawing from a class. To view your holds, log into LOCUS and click on "Holds" under "Personal Portfolio." If you still have problems dropping a class in LOCUS and you have checked for holds, visit the Office of Academic Advising and Services (OAAS), Sullivan Center 260, during walk-in advising hours. Special walk-in advising hours are scheduled for students who need assistance withdrawing from classes. The extended walk-in hours are on March 23 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.; and March 26 from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. Students should attempt to withdraw from classes using LOCUS and check for holds themselves before visiting OAAS. For a complete listing of walk-in advising hours, visit: www.luc.edu/advising/walkin.shtml.

Participate in the St. Baldrick's Day Celebration

Raise money for a good cause by participating in the Second Annual St. Baldrick's Day Celebration on March 27 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. in CFSU. Sponsored by Loyola and Sigma Alpha Epsilon, this event benefits the St. Baldrick's Foundation, a non-profit organization that raises money for childhood cancer research. Hair loss is a common part of the chemotherapy treatment for cancer patients, and St. Baldrick's Day allows people to show support for those in need. Participants seek donations from family and friends and then get their heads shaved at the event. There will be free food, a raffle, music and a performance by Stick and Move, one of the top break-dancing teams in the world. For more information, contact Steve Wells at: swells3@luc.edu; or visit: www.stbaldricks.org/events/event_info.html?EventID=18.

    Alter Your CTA Train Schedule

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is facilitating a $530 million project to increase capacity and modernize the Brown Line. Part of the construction plan involves widening platforms at the Belmont and Fullerton stations, which serve the Brown Line, Red Line and Purple Line Express. The CTA will close one track at a time to make these repairs, which means the current four-track operation will be reduced to three tracks. The first phase of the construction project will begin in April, and the renovation is expected to be completed in December 2009. CTA users may experience longer travel times, slower boarding and more crowded trains on the Brown Line, Red Line and Purple Line Express, especially during the evening rush. Passengers are advised to consider varying the time of day they travel on the CTA, opting for off-peak hours. For more information about the CTA project, visit: www.ctabrownline.com/threetrack.html.
