Title/s: Assistant Director
I was raised in Youngstown, OH and attended Youngstown State University (Go Penguins!) where I earned both my Bachelor's of Art in Professional Writing and Editing, with a concentration in Journalism; and my Master's in Higher Education.
I have a lot of different interests, but if it involves making me laugh or better yet, allowing me to make others laugh, I am all in! Since moving to Chicago I completed year-long improv training programs at The Second City and Improv Olympics, and enjoyed performing throughout the city. I have also completed a number of half-marathons, and I am training for my third Chicago marathon this fall, so I guess it is fair to say that I enjoy running. What I treasure the most though, is spending time with my family and friends. I always look forward to spending quality time with the people I love most in the world.
"I think every person has the ability to effect change. Every one of us affects the world constantly through our actions, through our every thought, our every word, the way that we interact with other people we're constantly affecting the world."
~Adam Yauch, The Beastie Boys (They are my all-time favorite band!)
First Year Memory:
What I loved most about my first quarter in college was that my schedule reflected what my interests were at the time. For the first time, I was able to study areas such as Eastern Religion, U.S. Politics and Sociology. I was so excited to learn about aspects of the world that I had never experienced in a classroom, but had read about in magazines or saw on the news. I really soaked up all my professors had to say and enjoyed being able to participate in class discussions. I was also happy that I could finally create and follow my own schedule, I really felt a sense of freedom.
