Women's Archives Mapping Project Directory

Welcome to the Women's Archives Mapping Project Directory.

Initiated in 2001, with funding provided by Irene Tinker, this directory is an ongoing effort to map archival repositories with collections relating to women. This directory is intended to provide both potential donors and researchers with information on repositories that collect women's history.

How to use this directory.

To add a new listing to the directory click on the Add link and fill out the form. Required information includes the organization's name, city, state, telephone number, email address, and materials solicited. After completing the form, click the submit button to add the record to the database.

To search this directory click on the Search link. This will take you to the search engine page where you can look for information by organization name, city, and state as well as conducting a keyword search. Searching by any of these methods will compile a list of organization names. Clicking on a name will bring up the record in a separate window. Each record must be closed before returning to the list of organizations. From the organization list you can use the back button to return to the search screen.

Any questions, comments, or concerns about the directory, please contact the project coordinator at wlarchives@luc.edu

  • Add your repository to the directory by filling out the entry form. Please be sure that the official name of your repository is put as the organization name since this is how it will be indexed in the directory.
