Description:  Work with your fellow department chairs to identify ways in which your departments can work more efficiently with increased teacher collaboration and ownership to facilitate school improvement.  Through the conference you will explore topics such as Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), Backward Design, instructional coaching, and servant leadership while developing an action plan for the work of your departments for the upcoming school year.

OUTCOMES:
Participants will do the following:
*  Develop new strategies for coaching and supporting their colleagues in improved curriculum design and instruction.
*  Learn new ways to structure their meetings as PLCs to increase teacher ownership and focused work on improvement efforts.
*  Create an action plan specific to their school and department.

AUDIENCE:  High School Administrators and Department Chairs 
RTI/MTSS LEVEL:  Tiers I, II or III
Pillars:  Instruction, Curriculum, Assessment Literacy
