Graduate Students of Color Alliance (GSCA)
Mission Statement
The primary purpose of this organization is to provide a forum on campus for graduate students and faculty of color to network, support, and offer academic and professional encouragement to its members. This comes in such forms as:
- passing information about funding opportunities and jobs available to people of color;
- collaborating on potential research ideas;
- promoting events on campus, such as speakers, that increase recognition of the issues that people of color face in society;
- creating a social network in which students of color can discuss, corroborate with, and support one another on the issues that people of color face in academia
