Sharon Kissane, Ph.D., GSAA Secretary

Consultant, Graduate School Alumna, 1970

B.A. in both English and Speech, De Paul University; Master's in Communications, Northwestern University and Ph.D. in English Education, Loyola University of Chicago.
 
I have been a faculty member of the U of I's English Department as well as the English Department of Harper College. However, the bulk of my teaching career was at the elementary level in the area of reading and language arts and special education, K-12.
I ran a private reading clinic in Park Ridge and was Associate Director of the Felician College Psycho-Educational Clinic in Chicago.
 
Since 1979, I have run Kissane Communications, Limited, a specialized writing and public relations firm. It also is a WGA literary agency. Six of my non-fiction books have been published along with hundreds of articles in various publications. I was a columnist for twenty years for the "Daily Herald" Newspapers and a part-time business writer for the "Chicago Tribune".
 
For the last three years, I have been acting in many movies, plays and in TV commercials.
I was on "America, I Got Talent" and my act is presently on You Tube.
 
I have been involved in numerous boards, mainly in education and business. I am currently on the South Barrington Foundation Organization as Historian.
