Application Requirements and Deadlines


In The Graduate School at Loyola University Chicago, there are three degrees to consider related to public policy and affairs. Please indicate the degree to which you are applying or whether you are applying for a dual degree.  

Master of Arts (MA) in Urban Affairs and Master of Public Policy (MPP) Applicant Supporting Documents

The following supporting documents must be submitted for the MA in Urban Affairs and MPP degree programs. You have the option of mailing the supporting documents to the office of Graduate & Professional Enrollment Management (GPEM) or applying online at the website designated below through GPEM. Applicants with an undergraduate GPA below 3.0 can only be admitted on probation.  A minimum GPA of 2.7 is required.

The following documents are required, in addition to those listed above, for those who may fall into these categories:

International applicants, and U.S. residents with degrees from institutions outside of the U.S., see International Students for more details regarding the above listed requirements.

JD/MPP Dual Degree Program Applicant Supporting Documents

The supporting documents for the JD/MPP Program applicants are the same for the MA in Urban Affairs and MPP required documents described in the above section. However, the Law School uses a different admission application system. You will need to apply through both the GPEM office for the MPP Program and the School of Law Admissions office for the JD Program. In the MPP application, you can indicate your LSAT score which is used in place of GRE scores. Please refer to the JD/MPP Program Overview Brochure‌ and School of Law Prospective Students webpage for the required and/or additional documents in the Law Program. 


To be considered for funding, please submit your application and supporting materials for the Fall 2015 semester by February 15th, 2015. The final deadline for the Fall 2015 semester is June 30th, 2015. The deadline for Spring 2015 admission is November 30, 2014.

Apply online for free through the GPEM office for one of the three programs in The Graduate School and waive the $50 application fee.
