HRER 490: Analytical Problem Solving in Human Resources and Industrial Relations

Course Description

This course examines the fundamentals of scientific research as it relates to research in human resources and industrial relations. Topics include theory, research design, methods and criticism. The course is designed for students in human resources and industrial relations who wish to undertake research relevant to their own organizations. Little or no background in scientific training is assumed. Statistics will not be emphasized; however, familiarity with elementary statistical concepts will prove useful. After this course, students will be prepared to conduct and design research studies within their own organizations.
