HRER 500: Special Topics
Course Description
This course is specially designed to introduce students to public labor relations systems in the United States, with special attention to Illinois. Specific topics covered will include: labor law; the structure and function of employer groups and unions; the process of collective bargaining and contract administration; strikes and impasse resolution; and new formats of labor management cooperation and cooperative approaches to financial crises.
