Shawn Mercer-Dixon Ms. Mercer-Dixon joined the law school in 1985 and since that time has been promoted to the Director of Student Services for the Graduate Legal Studies (GLS). She also serves as the Program Coordinator for Minority Law Student Relations. In her position as the GLS Student Services Director, Ms. Mercer-Dixon is responsible for orientation for all graduate law students. She serves as the academic advisor for GLS students and ensures that students receive pertinent information about academic programs, student development and academic expectations. As the Program Coordinator for Minority Law Student Relations, Ms. Mercer-Dixon works closely with minority law students in identifying scholarship opportunities, programming and serving as the liaison to other law schools with regard to minority issues and concerns. In her spare time, Ms. Mercer-Dixon is a certified basketball official and has been inducted into the Chicago Public School's Coaches Hall of Fame. She was the first female official to officiate an IHSA Green Division Boys City Championship.
