Health Care Reform

Loyola University Chicago realizes the upcoming health care reform changes can be confusing. Please refer back to this page and use it as a guide to help you answer questions and understand Loyola University Chicago's role.

Health Insurance Marketplace

The Marketplace is a new way to find health care coverage. It can help you or your family members obtain coverage (if you are not presently covered) or to look at other options. The exchanges will officially be open on October 1, 2013 so expect to see more information as the time gets nearer.

Since Loyola University Chicago provides qualifying and affordable health care to eligible employees, you will not qualify for a tax credit to help offset costs if you purchase health insurance through the marketplace. Please click Exchange Letter  to read a letter sent out to faculty, staff and students explaining what this means.

Part of the requirements for the exchanges is the actual notice of availability for the exchanges. The notice can be read by clicking DOL Exchange Notice.

Loyola's benefit department created some frequently asked questions (FAQ's). Please click Exchange FAQ's to read them.
