Forbes Ranks Loyola University Chicago as Best Mid-size Illinois Employer
Forbes magazine named Loyola University Chicago as the top Illinois employer on its 2016 “America’s Best Mid-size Employers” list. Based on survey responses, Loyola was ranked at no. 19 out of 250 companies listed and was one of only two Illinois universities included (DePaul University was ranked no. 82). Other notable schools on the list included fellow Jesuit institution Boston College (no. 5), Princeton University (no. 29), Clemson University (no. 33), and Caltech (no. 62).
“At Loyola, we believe in fostering a work environment for all of our employees that values service excellence, stewardship, personal well-being, and professional development,” said Winifred Williams, PhD, vice president of Human Resources and chief diversity and inclusion officer. “We are honored to be recognized as a top employer and to have the opportunity to showcase our faculty and staff who make the University a great place to work.”
To compile the ranking, Forbes and Statista.com surveyed more than 30,000 U.S. employees anonymously via online access panels. The employers’ scores were based on two main questions: “On a scale of 0-10, how likely would you be to recommend your employer to someone? How about other employers in your industry?” In order to be selected, the employer had to receive at least 100 total ratings in the two questions above. The study also asked respondents about 30 work-related attributes to provide employers perspectives on the ratings.
