Bonus Day Policy
Policy Statement:
Two (2) paid Bonus Days (BD) will be given to regular full-time staff, with and FTE of 1.0, who are paid bi-weekly and who have taken no sick time off or days-off-without-pay for the past payroll year*. One (1) paid BD off will be given to regular full-time staff members paid bi-weekly who have taken no more than one day off as sick leave or as a day off without pay.
One (1) paid BD will be given to regular part-time staff from .53 FTE to .99 FTE and paid bi-weekly who have taken no sick leave or day off without pay.
Purpose:
To recognize and reward employees for perfect attendance in the workplace.
To Whom This Policy Applies:
Full time staff below administrative department head, paid bi-weekly, and Part-time staff at .53 FTE [or .50 FTE if on a 2080 hr/yr] to .99, paid bi-weekly at the Lakeside Campuses.
Responsibilities:
Supervisor: Monitor and approve accurate time records for subordinates.
Employee: To allow for smooth flow of the work, request use of Bonus Day/s at least one week prior to the desired time off. Individual department may require more notification time.
Guidelines:
The HR/Payroll system will track eligible employees' time records from January 1 for the current payroll year. Any employee in the eligible group will automatically receive the appropriate Bonus Day/s if he/she has met the requirements.
Bonus Day's will be listed on individual employee's Lawson Self Service. Sick and Vacation Balances, if earned in the prior year, starting in January of each new year.
Bonus Days must be used in full day increments by the end of the payroll year.
Bonus Days earned but not taken by the end of the payroll year will not carry over into the next year.
Regular full-time employees hired between January 1 and June 30 will be eligible to earn one (1) Bonus Day for perfect attendance in the remainder of the payroll year after their date of hire. Regular full-time employees hired July 1 or later will become eligible to earn Bonus Days in the next payroll year.
* The payroll year ends with the last day of the pay period to be paid within the calendar year. For 2004 the payroll year for the University ends December 23, 2006
