Loyola Picnic and Service Day 2008
Faculty, Staff and Retirees are cordially invited to several different events this summer to honor Saint Ignatius Loyola. As in prior years, this commemoration will involve both service to others and a community celebration.
Please join the entire Loyola University Chicago community for the Service Day (painting) on Wednesday, July 30th at Chicago Jesuit Academy located at 5058 W. Jackson Blvd. Then on Thursday, July 31st, which is St. Ingatius Loyola's Feast Day- we will start our campus celebration with Mass in Madonna della Strada Chappel followed by a picnic party adjacent ot the chapel on the Lake Shore Campus. As always there will be food, games and activities for all ages.
Loyola is looking for a minimum of 125 faculty, staff and retiree volunteers to attend the Chicago Jesuit Academy's painting project. To volunteer, please complete our Service Day RSVP form at www.luc.edu/hr/svcday_rsvp.shtml.
This is our most ambitious community project, so the first 7 groups of 8 or more to register and attend the community painting project will be eligible for special Rambler prizes. Please email or call Abraham Cortes, HR Manager to register your group (acorte1@luc.edu 312-915-6573). Group registration deadline is July 21, 2008. Winners will be announced at Chicago Jesuit Academy.
On Thursday, July 31st we will celebrate the Feast Day of Saint Ignatius Loyola with a Mass held in the Madonna della Strada Chapel at 11:30am followed by our annual picnic. During this summer of construction, we will organize our picnic under a big top tent on the lakefront right outside of the chapel. As always there will be food, games and activities. So please join with your fellow faculty, staff and retirees to celebrate St. Ignatius and Loyola University Chicago
Site Leaders Needed for Service Day 2008
Full-time faculty and staff are invited to serve as Project Site Leaders (PSMs) during the 2008 Service Day scheduled for July 30, 2008.
