Getting Started using Tidebreakā„¢ TeamSpot

Follow these instructions on getting connected and getting started using Tidebreakā„¢ TeamSpot.

  1. Starting the TeamSpot Host
Login to the Group Study Room computer. The TeamSpot Host will automatically launch, you will see the black TeamSpot panel when it has finished loading.

  2. Starting The Software
Launch the TeamSpot Client software. If you are using a laptop from the Information Commons, it will be on the desktop. If you do not have the software, download here.

If it is your first time using the software, click the Accept option for the license agreement and then click Continue. Customize the name of your machine, in the This Machine textbox, enter your  name (ex: John).

  3. Joining A TeamSpot for the First Time
Click the New Location button. Enter the name as listed on the sticker for the plasma display when prompted to Enter the URL or domain for the new TeamSpot (ex: LGS-IC201).

An authentication dialog box will appear on your laptop. Enter the six-character code as displayed on the TeamSpot host to join. The box will remain for a minute in case you mistype the code. Each user should join one at a time.

  4. Rejoining A TeamSpot
Once you've added a Location for that Group Study Room on your computer, it is saved in the Locations to Join dropdown. If you return to use TeamSpot in that same room, simply pick the correct name from the dropdown list.
