About

Dr. Jessie Manuta is currently the Academic Vice President of Ateneo de Davao University in the Philippines and a member of the Foundation for the Philippine Environment and Davao Medical School Foundation. He holds a doctoral degree in urban affairs and public policy with a concentration in energy and environmental policy from University of Delaware, a master’s degree in environmental studies with cognate emphasis in agrarian studies from the University of the Philippines and a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Ateneo de
Davao University in the Philippines.

Dr. Manuta is interested in climate change adaptation, ecological justice and global environmental change, and vulnerability and disaster risk governance. He has co-authored many books and articles. His more recent works include a co-authored book Rivers Run Through It: Mount Mutatum Protected Landscape , Quezon City, Philippines: Foundation for the Philippine Environment, 2012 and a journal article “Institutional Traps and Vulnerability to Changes in Climate and Flood Regimes in Thailand” in Regional Environmental Change 11, 2011.
