About

Dr. Luiz Felipe Guanaes Rego is the Director of the Interdisciplinary Center for the Environment at the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The center is structured by thematic multidisciplinary research groups to create multidisciplinary projects that enable a holistic understanding of the sustainability of society. He is also a Professor in the Department of Geography at Pontifícia Universidade Católica in Rio de Janeiro. He received his doctorate in natural science from Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg, Germany.

His research interests include modeling geographic space to support analyses of activities and monitoring progress towards sustainability of the land at the local level.
